What is your name?
Ingrid Radio
How old are you?
30
Where did you go to school?
Iowa State University
What is your job at BAKER?
Account Coordinator

What made you decide to get into the design industry?
Having studied art and design in college, I wanted to enter a field that would allow me to pursue artistic interests while still being able to make a living.
The design industry allows me to do that. My love for creating beautiful home interiors and products and my inquisitive nature at my last position, led to some fascinating work in design and trend research. In my current position as an account representative, I help in translation of the clients’ need into an effective brand design.
How many years have you been doing this?
I have been at Baker since August 2010. Prior to joining Baker, I worked at another local design firm doing trend research and color forecasting for four years
Why did you choose to work at BAKER?
Baker struck me as a great place to work and develop professionally. Everyone I met was super nice. I also thought the offices looked really cool, and a well-designed office is a good sign of a great place to work!
What is your favorite color?
Red!
What do you love most about your job? least?
I love working with such gifted, kind, and giving people. Their creative energy and dedication to our clients challenges and energizes me.
Least?
When Ken scares me. Although, that can be funny…sometimes.
Do you have any side projects or passions that you work on when you’re not at work?
Yes! I have lots of interests, especially ballroom dancing, photography and baking. I just started a custom dessert delivery business.

What is the name of your company and web site?
Sweet Rush. My website is: www.sweetrushbakery.com
What inspired you to start baking?
I have always loved to bake. The creative process of baking is relaxing and produces a great ending. From an early age, I have always wanted to open up my own bakery.
What is your favorite recipe or motif for your cupcakes?
I love chocolate sour cream cupcakes with chocolate Swiss meringue buttercream frosting.
When did you get into dance?
A few years ago, my friends encouraged me to take a free introductory lesson and I have been hooked every since! The music, energy, and the fun of dancing is a wonderful way to have fun, meet people, and get a great workout.
Have you ever performed or competed with your dance?
I perform at “Showcases” at my studio about four times a year with my professional partner. For about a year, I also did ballroom competitions with an amateur partner. I hope to compete with a professional or amateur partner soon!
I also attend West Coast Swing competitions. The competitions follow a “Jack and Jill” format, where you do not know who your partner will be, what moves they will have you perform or the song you will dancing to when the competition starts. It is a super fun way to dance, learn new steps, and meet new people. Plus, you get to social dance until the sun comes up!
What advice can you give to someone needing a creative push?
Get out of your usual environment and explore something new: A new place; a new book; a new food; a new office setting; a new idea; a new store; or a new person. Changing just one perspective in our lives can sometimes unleash a torrent of great new ideas.
Where do you find inspiration?
I love to read design and cooking blogs.
A few of my favorites blogs:

Are you single?
Yes
Do you have any pets?
No, but I love pets and often take care of cats and dogs.
What is one thing that most people would be surprised to learn?
I started violin lessons at the age of 4 and still play.
What was the last thing that made you laugh?
A conversation with a friend.
If you were given a chance to travel in time which time period would you choose and why?
Early 17th Century in England a la Jane Austen. I wouldn’t mind attending balls, buying ribbon and receiving letters from handsome men.
Or
America in the 1950’s, purely for the fashion.
Where can we find you when you’re not at work?
I’m either out dancing or in my kitchen baking!
What’s your new years resolution?
To enter a pie eating contest. And win.
